Toys for Tots accepting applications through Dec. 4

Ohio’s oil and gas industry is partnering with Toys for Tots in seven counties in eastern Ohio to collect toys for distribution to those in need in early December. Food distribution continues in December

Two hundred boxes of free food were distributed to Carorollton residents at the Carrollton First United Methodist Church under a partnership program with the Steubenville Urban Mission during the first of four distribtion dates. Future dates for the drive-thru distribution are Dec. 1, 8 and 15  beginning at 12:30 p.m. Boxes contain fresh produce, meat and dairy products. There are no income guidelines. By Carol McIntire Editor Carroll County General Health District officials reported two additional COVID-19 -related deaths during a report to county commissioners today. Director of Nursing Kelly Engelhart said both of the deceased are in the 65-and-over age category. As of 9:15 this morning, there were 277 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county and 75 active cases. That is an increase of 57 cases from last Thursday.

Chris Modranski soundly defeated Tom White in the race for Carroll County Commissioner (Jan. 3, 2021, term) at the Nov. 3 general election, according to unofficial results. Christmas parade moves to evening start with plans to light up Carroll County

Members of the Carrollton Rotary Club have not met since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and opted not to sponsor the parade this year. A group of local merchants discussed the importance of the parade to the local community and children, who are excited to see Santa and Mrs. Claus, and agreed to expand the event to include all of Carroll County and move it to a night event.
