Warriors top Glen Oak

Carrollton picked up wins on both the girls and boys sides in the first regular season match of the 2020-21 bowling season.

The Warrior girls topped Glen Oak 2,506 – 2126, led by Cailyn Bright with a 423 series (games of 256 and 167). Carena Fowler added a 370 series (213,157), followed by Nikki Rummell 355 (183, 172) and Anissa Flanagan 330 (145, 185). Kellyn Harsh (150) and Tara Oberlin (133) bowled single games.

Jennifer Ball led Glen Oak with a 339 series.

The Lady Warriors won the individual game score 1,761 – 1,505 and the Baker 745 -621.

Boys victory

The boys squad edged the Golden Eagles 1,788 – 1,624, but lost the Baker 667-733, still recurring the team win 2,455 – 2,357.

Fred Tessane rolled a 419 series (176-149), followed by Brant George 349 (188, 161); Coby Weiland 359 (201, 158) and Aaron Clark 325 (176, 149). Kobe Green (147) and Ryan Worth (189) rolled single games for the winners.

Kevin Heckman led Glen Oak with a 441 series. 

Minerva splits with East Canton

Minerva kicked off the 2020-21 boys bowling season with a 2,505 – 2,364 win over East Canton Nov. 18 at Minerva Bowl.

The Lions captured both the individual games scores 1,788 – 1,720  and the Baker 717-644 to secure the victory.

Cameron Mayle led the winners with games of 197 and 213 for a 410 series. Isaac Wisenbarger rolled a 386 series (192, 194), followed by Ahdyn Lautzenheiser 338 (136, 202), Isaiah Frazier 334 (185, 149) and Nick Baumberger 320 (175, 145).

Girls action

The Lady Lions dropped the first game of the season to East Canton 2,280 -2,191.

East Canton captured the individual game scores 1,647 -1,539 and the Lions won the Baker 652-633.

Gretchen Cogan tallied a 406 series (180, 226) to lead the Lions, followed by Cheyenne Garrison 307 (129, 178), Shelby Worrell 290 (141, 149), Skye Davis 273 (138, 135) and Kassadee Archer 263 (128, 135).

Rockets roll

 The Conotton Valley Rockets boys and girls bowling teams opened the season by defeating Southern Local Nov. 16 at Atwood Lanes.

The boys team won 2,096-1,314. Nolan Caldwell had the high game with a 206 and Robert Myer scored the high series with a 391.

The girls team won 2,002-1,153. Kendall Schaar scored the high game and high series, rolling 211 and 340.

The teams both picked up wins against Alliance at Atwood Lanes Nov. 19.

Schaar led the girls team to a 2,027-1,138 win with scores of 172 and 171 for a 343 series. Others scoring included Katie Schaar, 336 (154, 182); Chloe Blick 297 (164, 133); Daphne Stuber 279 (144, 135); and Mackenzie Willoughby 275 (159, 116). 

The Rockets won the individual games score 1,530 – 919 and the Baker 919 -219.

Boys action

The Rockets topped the Aviators 2,356 – 1,661, led by Nolan Caldwell with a 420 series. He rolled games of 193-227. Spencer Bernhart had scores of 175 and 234 for a 409 series. Others scoring included Robert Myer 334 (152, 182); Jayden Roll 322 (147, 175); and Dawson Higgins 288 (130, 150).

Conotton Valley won the individual game score 1,773 – 1,298 and the Baker 583-363.
