Leesville council made plans for the upcoming holiday season during the November meeting.

Mayor John Traxler thanked employee Skip Bernhart for being proactive in putting the Christmas decorations up in the village circle in preparation for the annual lighting ceremony.

Fiscal Officer Sally Bernhart inquired as to how council plans to conduct the annual lighting ceremony. Following a discussion, council agreed to proceed with the event, but noted masks and social distancing would be required this year.

Plans are to conduct the ceremony Saturday, Nov. 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the village circle. All are welcome to attend.

In other discussion, Traxler noted he is attempting to get quotes for the installation of a restroom in village hall. A special meeting was held in October to accept CARES Act funding with plans to construct a restroom with the money.

Bernhart discussed the time frame in which the CARES Act monies must be encumbered and paid out. Council asked Traxler to proceed with obtaining the estimates.
