Firefighters from three departments are cleaning up at the scene of a fire at 439 High St., Carrollton. Carrollton Fire Chief Shane Thomas said no one was injured in the blaze, which was reported just before 7 a.m.  Assistant Chief Bill Wells said the fire started in an upstairs bedroom and both residents were downstairs and were able to escape from the home. Carroll County Veterans Service Commission officials closed the office to walk-in visits until Governor Mike DeWine recalls the state of emergency issued last week. The Edison Jr./Sr. High School Beta Clubs donated supplies to the Jefferson County Humane Society including food, treats and cleaning items, plus they contributed monetary donations to sponsor a kennel.
