Two new COVID-19 deaths reported in Carroll County

By Carol McIntire Editor Carroll County General Health District officials reported two additional COVID-19 -related deaths during a report to county commissioners today. Director of Nursing Kelly Engelhart said both of the deceased are in the 65-and-over age category. As of 9:15 this morning, there were 277 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county and 75 active cases. That is an increase of 57 cases from last Thursday.

The Carrollton Warriors football team wore pink jerseys during the Oct. 2 game to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but chose to honor one of their own fighting cancer prior to the contest with Cambridge. Rocket Center Launches

The new Rocket Center was launched today when ground was broken for the new $17.3 million facility that will attach to Conotton Valley High School. Superintendent Tom Herman said the only things missing from the original $24.7 million plans are two swimming pools. Construction should begin in the next couple weeks. Jerry Dean Lewis, 62, of Church St., Salineville, died peacefully Saturday afternoon June 27, 2020, at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA.
