State wrestling champion takes reins of Malvern wrestling program

Francesco Borsellino has been selected as the new wrestling coach at Malvern High School. He will officially be hired at the Malvern Board of Education meeting Aug. 19. CHS athletic passes on sale; league increases admission prices

Eastern Buckeye Conference officials voted to increase the cost of admission for 2024-25 sporting events.  The cost for adults at varsity events will now be $8 with student price set at $5 (pre-sale students football tickets are $5.) Adult pricing for middle school events with $6 and students $3. All tickets sold at the gate for varsity football will be $8.  Passes will be available for purchase at the Aug.

Loudon Township homecoming parade winners

The Loudon Twp. Volunteer Fire Department homecoming featured a parade, food and two tractor pulls. The  annual event was held in Kilgore Aug. 2 and 3 this year along with a makeup date  Aug. 4. The Friday tractor pull was postponed from Friday until Sunday afternoon, but the food stand was still open for diners Friday evening. Early morning fire damages mobile home

Carrollton Village firefighters extinguished a fire in a mobile home Aug. 5 using less than 100 gallons of water.According to Chief Shane Thomas, the department was toned at 6:05 for a structure fire in a mobile home park located at 770 Jones Ave. Lot S, Carrollton.Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke coming out of the ridge vent in the roof, but no flames.
