Scott R. Shepherd, 57

Scott R. Shepherd, 57, of Carrollton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024 in his home.

Born on June 4, 1966 in Steubenville, Ohio, he was a son of Richard “Dick” H. and Janet (Hartsouk) Shepherd.

During his life, Scott helped both his community as a member of the Amsterdam Fire Department, as well as his country, proudly serving for four years in the United States Navy. He grew up in the Hope Church in Amsterdam and worked for PCC Airfoils in Minerva. Scott loved his children above all else, including his grandson and granddaughter on the way.

Along with his parents, Scott is survived by his three children, Morgan (Zack) Staley, Josh Shepherd, and Catherine Shepherd; grandson, Parker Staley; brother, Chris (Laurie) Shepherd; sister, Heather (Steve) Dunlap; two nephews, Ryan Shepherd and Cade Dunlap; and many other extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service to honor Scott’s life will be held at Noon on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024 at Mt. Pleasant Church in Carrollton with the Rev. Rick Dawson officiating and Veterans services. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
