Area Girls teams dominate sectional bowling action

Conotton Valley, Minerva and Carrollton swept the top three places at the girls sectional bowling tournament held on Valentine’s Day at Boulevard Lanes at Dover. 

The Rockets topped the field of 24 teams with a team total of 2,682. Minerva placed second with a total of 3,526, and Carrollton third at 3,278. The Rockets tallied the top score in regulation of 2,641 and the top Baker score of 1,041. 

Rounding out the top six teams that qualified for the district tournament, scheduled Feb. 22 at Legacy Lanes in Coshocton, are Garaway, River View and West Holmes. The top six individuals not on a qualifying team also advanced.

Six of the top 24 individuals hailed from the three top teams, led by Conotton Valley senior Mackenzie Willoughby, was the top individual in the tournament with  games of 212, 189 and 226 for a 667 series. Minerva junior Izabelle Genet placed second with a 643 series, followed by Delilah Williams 6th, CV (557); Jadynn Thompson 8th, Minerva (534); Mylie Galigher, 9th CV (533); Kaylee Russell, 12th, Carrollton (493); Hailee Ulman, 15th, Carrollton (491); Shelby Worrell 16th, Minerva (488); Abby Natcher, 17th (three-way tie), Carrollton (482); Kayla Henderhan, 21st, Minerva (469); Lillian Booth, CV (464); and Anna Leach, 24th, Minerva (461).  

Carrollton’s Zoey Elliott placed 32nd and Mackenzie Rummell 38th in the field of 140 bowlers.
