Donald R. Burns Jr., 67

Donald R. Burns Jr., 67, of Bowerston, passed away Dec. 31, 2021. 

He was born Oct. 8, 1954, in Akron to the late Donald R. Burns, Sr. and Ann (Kristin) Burns. 

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church at Akron. 

He married Terri L. (Morgan) Burns March 24, 1974, who survives. The couple celebrated 48 years of marriage together. 

“Don” received his Juris Doctorate degree and served as Carroll County prosecuting attorney for 11 years, retiring in 2016.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and his passion was the outdoors, hunting and fishing. 

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Donald R. Burns, III (Kathryn) of North Lawrence; three daughters, Angie Shingleton, Amy (Larry) Adam; and Andrea (Darryn) Howard, all of Sherrodsville; two brothers, Mark of Clinton; and Bobby of Atwater; two sisters, Becky Burns of Seattle, WA; and Missy (Pat) Petit of Atwater; and 11 grandchildren, Sam, Keegan, Jillian, Bentlea, Cici, Ari, Lucy, Lyla, Gabby, Annie and Ellie. 

No services are planned at his time.
