Malvern senior Paige Peshina won the Division III district title in the 400 and was the runner-up in the 1600 to earn berths at regional competition at Massillon this week.
Peshina had times of 1:02.48 in the 400 and 5:38.82 in the 1600. She also anchored the 4×400 relay team which placed third in a time of 4:21.31 to earn a regional berth. Other members of the relay include Lanie Bower, Emma Debo and Alyssa Boni.
The 4×200 relay of Debo, Boni, Alyiah Watson and Bower earned the final qualifying spot with a time of 1:54.82.
The top four finishers in each event earned spots in the regional meet, scheduled May 26 and 28 at Massillon Perry High School.
The boys 4×200 relay team of Adam Moser, Shane Rodgers, Landyn Huffman and Xavier Watson earned a regional berth with a fourth place finish in a time of 1:35.72.
Tuscarawas Valley won the boys team championship with 111.5 points. Malvern placed 14th and Conotton Valley 18th in the 19-team field.
Steubenville Catholic Central won the girls team title with 76 points. The Lady Hornets were eighth.

Rocket Evan Siedel just missed a regional berth with a fifth place finish at the district meet. Siedel had a time of 2:11.04.
