A motorcycle accident June 12 closed SR 39 between Dellroy and Sherrodsville for nearly two hours.

Carroll County Sheriff Dale Williams said the crash occurred at 11:49 a.m. near the intersection of Fable Rd.

A report filed by Officer James Lemonte said Andrew E. Hylton, 58 of 7218 Ravenna Ave. SE, Waynesburg was driving a 2021 Harley Davidson motorcycle southeast on SR 39. The motorcycle went off the right side of the roadway, struck a concrete culvert and went airborne and landed in a muddy swamp. Hylton, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected over the handlebars.

Regional EMS transported Hylton to Dellroy where he was picked up by Stat MedEvac at the township ball field and transported to Aultman Hospital.

He has since been released from the hospital.

Dellroy Volunteer Fire Department set up the life flight zone and R&M Towing removed the motorcycle from the scene.
