Grayson Rodgers and Ashlee Garner are Carrollton High School’s December students of the month.
Grayson is the son of Craig and Jessica Rodgers and he has two brothers, ages 13 and 9. He is a four year letter winner on the Carrollton Cross Country team. Currently, I am on the Academic Challenge team out of school. I am involved in the More Life and Mount Pleasant Youth group.
Special hobbies include reading and writing, and he hopes to write a book or a trilogy someday. He is deciding on where to go to college, but The Ohio State University is at the top of the list. Future plans include going into biological research.
Who has had the most influence on Grayson and why?
“Jonathan Naylor, my cross-country coach and youth pastor,” said Grayson. “He has always been a friend to me, even when I didn’t want him to be and a role model when I didn’t think I needed one.”
What advice can Grayson give for success in life?
“Always stay humble and kind.”
Ashlee Garner is the daughter of Angie and Lance Garner and is an only child. She is a 4-year member of the women’s golf team and was on Fall Homecoming Court her senior year and Winter Homecoming Court her junior year. She was also on student council, in the academic hall of fame and a four-year office aide.
Ashlee’s hobbies include hunting and going to church. She is undecided where she is going to college, but she plans to major in Health Sciences and play golf.
Who has had the most influence on Ashlee and why?
“My parents have pushed me and I never allow myself to lower my standards for myself and I am very grateful,” said Ashlee.
What advice can Ashlee give for success in life?
“Everything happens for a reason so don’t stress about the little things.”
