Tis the season for twinkling lights and piling the family in the car and touring the county to look at holiday lights displays,
New this year is a drive-through display at A1 Twin Valley Campgrounds near Harlem Springs.
Owner Roger Bruecknet said the family-friendly display is a joint effort between himself and two year-round campers, Fred and Lori Ayers,
“I couldn’t do it without them,” Bruecknet said. “They put their hearts into it.”
Fred is quick to add that Lori loves Christmas and previously set up a display at their campsite that was quite extensive.
“We probably had about 40 blow-up displays in that one area,” Fred noted, adding they have now dubbed the display “Valley of Lights.”
“We probably have over 90 blow-up displays in addition to the lights,” Fred said, waviing his arm in the direction of twinkling lights along the drive.
Saying they have put a lot of time and effort into the displays this year, the two men already have bigger and better plans for next year.

“Our goal is to add music and synchronize the lights with the music,” Bruecknet said. “No doubt, we’ll also add new displays as well.”
The displays will be lit daily through Jan. 2 with no time restrictions.
“They’re open 24 hours a day,” Bruecknet stated.
A1 Twin Valley Campgrounds is located at 2330 Apollo Rd. SE, Carrollton.
