Carrollton teens win summer golf tournaments

Two members of the Carrollton High School girls golf team won top honors in junior tournament action recently.
Sophomore Kaylee Russell shot a 43 at Tannehauf Golf Course to win the girls 12-15 age division of the Northern Ohio PGA junior tournament.
Senior Ashlee Garner fired a 74 and won the girls 16-18 division of the First National Junior Golf Tour event June 19 at Cambridge Country Club. Teammate Claire Hostetler placed fifth in the same age group. Garner was in second place in the point standings after two tournaments and Hostetler in eighth.
Remaining stops. On the First National Bank Tour include Hickory Flats Golf Course at West Lafayette July 13, Fire Ridge Golf Course July 20 and Wilkshire Golf Course at Bolivar July 27. The tournament of champions is scheduled July 31 at Union Country Club at Dover.
