Boys basketball sectional pairings

Three area boys basketball teams will host first round East District sectional tournament games.

Sectional pairings were conducted earlier today and announced by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

Malvern earned the no. 1 seed in Division III and will host Ridgewood, the no. 15 seed, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.  The winner will play no. 14 Edison March 1 at 7 p.m.

 The Division II East District contains 21 teams. Minerva received the no. 8 seed and will host no. 11 seed Lisbon Beaver Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. If Minerva wins, the Lions will host Carrollton, the no. 10 seed, Mar. 2 at 7 p.m. If Lisbon Beaver wins, they will travel to Carrollton Mar. 2 at 7 p.m.

Also in Division III, no. 6 seed Sandy Valley will host no. 8 Coshocton Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. The winner will play the winner of no. 3 Martins Ferry and no. 10 Fort Frye. If Sandy Valley wins, they will either travel to Martins Ferry or host Fort Frye March 1 at 7 p.m.

The Division IV East District contains 16 teams. Conotton Valley received the no. 14 seed and will travel to no. 9 Bridgeport Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. If the Rockets win, they will travel to the winner of top seeded Woodsfield Monroe Central and no. 10 Shenandoah March 1 at 7 p.m.
