Minerva parade rings in holiday season

Minerva’s Downtown Winter Wonderland and Christmas Parade held Dec. 3 kicked off the village festivities on a brisk Saturday.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus rode into town and stopped in Minerva Historical Society’s Haas Museum for photos with local children by Ryan Miller Photography.
The Presbyterian women tied knitted scarves around the lamp posts for paradegoers and visitors in need. Pleasant Grove and Stillfork Presybterian 4-H Club had a live nativity scene. There were tattoos and face painting as well at Minerva Perk.
Buckeye Tree Farm donated the town Christmas Tree located at Mayor’s Park. Real Integrity Real Estate Svcs. donated a sled full of toys for the drawing winner.
The Minerva Community Band, Minerva and East Canton HS Choirs sang Christmas Carols and performed around Market St. Free hot chocolate, cookies, s’mores, hot dogs and more were given away all over Market Street and at local businesses.
The following businesses put up treat trees for the kids: Real Integrity Real Estate, Simply Scarves & Such, Clark, Clark and Chaddock, Sandy Springs Brewing Company, Great Clips, Mapes State Farm Insurance, Edward Jones Investments, Market Street Art Spot, Coy-Kamph Financial Group, Minerva Area Historical Society, Minerva Police Dept., Battista and Battista, Summergirl Studio and Lion’s Den.
