Malvern man facing sex-related charges

A Malvern man was indicted on sex-related charges during a half-day session of a Carroll County grand jury April 3.

JEREMY C. MARSH, 46, of 5071 Citrus Road NW, Lot 15, Malvern, Ohio, was indicted on six counts of Pandering Sexually Oriented Matter Involving a Minor, each a second-degree felony, and six counts of Pandering Sexually Oriented Matter Involving a Minor, each a fourth-degree felony. 

Prosecuting Attorney Steven D. Barnett said Marsh is accused of possessing multiple sexually explicit electronic images involving children between March 5, 2023, and April 26, 2023. The images were recovered from various electronic devices in his possession.

Marsh was one of eight indictments handed down after the grand jury heard testimony from nine witnesses. 

JASMINE R. ADAMS, 34, of Pittsburgh, PA, was indicted on Identity Fraud, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Prohibited Acts Involving Certificates of Title, all felony charges.  Barnett said Adams is alleged to have used a stolen identity to purchase a motor vehicle from a Carrollton dealership Aug. 9, 2023, and titled the vehicle in her name.  The vehicle was recovered by Pennsylvania State Police.

Other indictments included:

HEATHER R. HODKINSON, 38, of New Philadelphia, Theft from a Person in a Protected Class and three counts of Theft. It is alleged that between Dec. 26, 2023, and January 19, Hodkinson stole three credit cards from an elderly person and made purchases with those cards totaling approximately $5,000.

DEVON K. HUGHES, 36, of 4130 Peace Road, Carrollton, Strangulation and Domestic Violence. Hughes is accused of strangling the mother of his children Jan. 19 during a domestic dispute.

BAILEY L. POWERS, 25, of 224½ 2nd Street NE, Carrollton, Obstructing Justice. Barnett said Powers is accused of hiding a man in the attic of her residence March 6. The man was wanted by Stark County authorities. Her action hindering officers in locating the man.

WENDELL R. PNIEWSKI, JR., 52, of 104 West Main Street A, Carrollton, Domestic Violence. 

According to Barnett, Pniewski is charged with assaulting a roommate during a dispute. Pniewski was previously convicted of domestic violence in Mentor Municipal Court in 2008.

YASMINE L. WAGNER, 24, of Richmond, Possession of a Fentanyl-Related Compound.  On Nov. 29, 2023, Wagner was found in possession of fentanyl during a traffic stop in Carrollton.

TREVOR R. SHUNK, 28, of 5095 Amsterdam Road SW, Bowerston, Aggravated Possession of Drugs.  Sheriff deputies arrested Shunk March 2 on an outstanding warrant for an arrest in Tuscarawas County and discovered methamphetamine in his pocket as he was taken into custody. 

Arraignments are scheduled April 18 at 8:15 a.m. before Judge Michael V. Repella, II in Carroll County Common Pleas Court.
