Carol VanMeter, 74

Carol VanMeter, 74, passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024. 

Carol was born on July 3, 1950, in Canton, OH to the late Angel and Patty Menendez. Carol attended school in Louisville, graduating from Louisville High School in 1968. 

She lived most of her adult life in Malvern where she was a Secretary for the Louisville Fire Department. Carol was also active in the Girl Scouts as Neighborhood Council Chair of Carroll County and Troop Leader of Troop 283. She was in the Malvern Parent Teacher Organization. She was also active with Malvern softball and golf teams for many years. She also enjoyed her time as a mobile notary and in estate sale set ups. 

Carol later moved to Wilmington, NC. for the warmer weather and to spend time closer to her daughter.

Carol is survived by her daughter Kaitlin VanMeter of Wilmington, NC.; Sister, Karen Sylvester of Louisville, OH.; her many loved nieces and nephews, and special friends the Derheimer family and the Karcher family.

Besides her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Frank VanMeter; a sister, Sharon Menendez and a brother, David Menendez.

A memorial service will be held at The Hide-A-Way at 4021 Mahoning Road NE in Canton, OH. at 6 p.m. on Nov. 25.
