Lady Lions linkers schooling opponents on golf course, sport undefeated record

Minerva Local will return to classes Aug. 21, but the Lady Lions have been schooling their opponents on the golf course all summer, building a 14-0 record before the first school bell rings. 

This past week they went 7-0, 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

They started the week Aug. 12 hosting Northwest and Canton South at Great Trail and captured two wins, defeating Northwest 190-202 and Canton South 190-208. Peyton Beaumariage was medalist, shooting a 44. Chloe Sallade followed with a 46. Delaney Sell had a 49 and Hannah Kirkpatrick rounded out the scoring with a 51.

Aug. 14, the girls faced Louisville and Tuslaw at Great Trail, defeating Louisville 194-204 and Tuslaw 194-227. Beaumarige again led the Lions, shooting a 44. Kirkpatrick scored a 48 and Sell was a stock back with 49. Madalynn Bartley finished with a 51.

On Aug. 15, the Lady Lions defeated Alliance 199-210 and Beaver Local 199-222 in a three-way match at Great Trail. Beaumariage lead the Lions with a 48. Madalynn Bartley added a 49. Kirkpatrick contributed a 50 and Sell finished the scoring with a 52.

West Branch visited Great Trail Aug. 16 and the Lady Lions sent them home on the losing end of a 191-201 score. Beaumariage, Sell and Sallade tied with a 47. Bartley finished the scoring with a 50.
