Terry E. Palmer, 64 of Kilgore, died March 25, 2024, in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a brief illness.

Born Feb. 1, 1960, in Canton, he was the son of the late George R. Palmer and Neala (Jones) Howell.

He was a 1978 graduate of Carrollton High School, where he was active in the FFA program.

He attended Rosedale Technical College in Pittsburgh and spent several years working as a diesel mechanic, including the former Ray C. Call of Strasburg (now Western Branch Diesel) and operated Palmer’s Garage from his home for several years.

Terry grew up on his family’s dairy farms, as a youngster in Perrysville and then on his grandparents’ farm in Kilgore. His love of the dairy industry drew him back to the family farm where he worked alongside his uncle, Elmer Palmer, and later took over management of the business with his sons, Chris and Ben.

His greatest love was his family: wife, Robin (Morrow), whom he married Oct. 11, 1980; sons Chris (Crystal) and Ben (Carly), both of Kilgore, and grandchildren Cyrus and Mallaree Palmer, Dylan Palmer and Jake Conaway.

He is also survived by his mother; brothers, Ray (Dusty), Andy (Annette) and Corey Palmer; sisters Jennifer Kaser and Tracy (Jeff) Kennedy; sister and brother-in-law Carol and Pete McIntire; niece and nephew Chelsea Elmore and Derek McIntire, along with several other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Lucille Jones and Wallace and Laura Palmer; uncle, Elmer Palmer; and brother-in-law, John Morrow.

Funeral services are scheduled March 30 at 10 a.m. in Dodds Funeral Home at Carrollton with Rev. Dr. Kimberly Arbaugh officiating. Calling hours are Friday from 6-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Perrysville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carrollton FFA chapter. Checks should be made out to the Carrollton Board of Education with a note on the memo line “Palmer donation to FFA” and mailed to 205 Scio Rd., Carrollton, OH 44615.
