Robert (Bob) S. Snively, 93, of Carrollton, passed away Nov. 20, 2020.
Born Jan. 23, 1927, in Carrollton, he was a son to the late Fred Milton and Myrna Louise (Miller) Snively.
Bob graduated from Augusta School in 1945. He was employed by P.C.C. in Minerva and served in the Army at Fort Knox during the Korean War. Bob was a dairy farmer his entire life and felt great pride and accomplishment for continuing on with his family values which were passed down through generations. Farming the land and tending to the animals was his passion. He and his wife, Marlene, together for many years, also raised Arabian horses. He enjoyed horseback riding, his International tractors and listening to Jim Reeves music.
Bob retired from farm life in October, 1991 and remained on the family farm where he grew up. He lived a simple life and was a keeper of the land.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene Elizabeth (Marshall) Snively whom he married Sept. 11, 1968; two children, Ben (Valerie) Snively and Myra (Eric) Hartong, both of Carrollton; six grandchildren, Alyssa (Tyler) Wyatt, Gage (Kirsten) Hartong, Robert (Alyssa) Hartong, Justin Liptak, Ryan Liptak and Shawn Liptak;11 great grandchildren, Braxton, Treyson, Kolson, Taylor, Ryker, Rowen, Rhett, Haiden, Mason, Rylee and Penelope.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Raymond.
