Kathryn Ann Bell Brooks

Kathryn Ann Bell Brooks, of Harbor City CA, passed away April 18, 2023.
Kathy was born June 11, 1937, to Helen (Gibson) Bell and James Wilbur “Wib” Bell in Canton Ohio. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1955, and from Muskingum College in 1959. After moving to the Los Angeles area in 1959, Kathy taught Kindergarten for 36 years in Hawthorne, CA. She was a member of the California Teachers Association, and National Education Association. Kathy attended the Unitarian Church in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Nancy Cope of Carrollton, and a niece, Gina Lynn Bell. She is survived by a brother, James W. Bell of Scotts Valley CA, three nieces, Dr. Beth Bell of Santa Cruz CA, Kitty Weir of Carrollton OH, and Barbara Newbold of Sherrodsville OH, and one nephew, Stephen Bell of Santa Cruz CA. Kathy had two wonderful friends, Butch and Daisy, who cared for her with love and devotion.
Internment has taken place at Green Hills Cemetery in Palos Verdes CA. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Bell-Herron Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 123, Carrollton OH 44615.
