John T. Nosal, 88

John T. Nosal, 88, of Amsterdam, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Valley Hospice in Steubenville, Ohio. Born on Nov. 9, 1934 in Wolf Run, Ohio, he was the son of the late Andrew and Maria Nosal. John was a graduate of Bergholz High School and a veteran of the US Army. He was an employee of the Weirton Steel Corporation for over 32 years. John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amsterdam, where he served on the Parish Council and as a sacristan. John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne (Samay) Nosal, and his daughter, Yvette Nosal. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Martha Bowman, Helen Buchheit, Andrew Nosal, and Paul Nosal.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amsterdam with Fr. Jack McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Bergholz Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s memory to the W.E.B.A. Food Pantry, 348 N.
