Jimmy Dale McCallister, Jr., 59, of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, formerly of Cadiz, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family.

Born Jan. 4, 1962, in Weirton, WV, he was a son to Jimmy Dale McCallister, Sr. and Nancy Lee (Staley) McCallister of Lake Panasoffkee, FL.

He graduated from Carrollton High School in Carrollton, then entered and served in the United States Army. He was a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary Post 232, Amsterdam and a member of Simmons Ridge Chapel.

He enjoyed being a professional truck driver, relaxing rides on his motorcycle and many poker runs, karaoke and time spent with family.

He is survived by his mother; two brothers, Martin L. McCallister, Sr., of Amsterdam and John Thomas McCallister of Lake Panasoffkee, FL; step-children, Billy Dehham of Ardmore, OK, Tiffany Dehham of Wichita Falls, TX, Brandon Snider, Cassandra Snider and Stromy White of Amsterdam; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; and his special pet kitty, Baby.

A celebration of life will be held May 8 at noon in Simmons Ridge Chapel, Amsterdam. Interment will follow with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any local food bank, homeless shelter or VFW Post.
