James W. Baker, 88, of Carrollton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday evening Sept. 27, 2023.

He was born June 16, 1935 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and was the son of the late Herbert Brown and Dorothy “Granny” Owens Baker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Baker, and a sister, Carolyn Tubbs.

James was retired from NAPA Distribution Center in Carrollton.

He is survived by his wife, the former June Babe, whom he married September21, 1976; eight children, Michael (Ellie) Baker, James (Kelli) Baker Jr., Sonja (Okie) Trbovich, Wendy (Tim) Boggess, Gerald (Carrie) Hawkins, Shawn Hawkins, Vicky Baker, Shannon Baker; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for James will be held Tuesday, Oct. 3, 4-6 p.m. in Dodds Funeral Homes of Carrollton.
