James R. Lucas, 85, of Sarasota, FL, passed away March 21, 2024. He was born in Malvern and moved to Sarasota with his wife and children in 1970. Jim was a construction contractor. He owned his own construction business and worked for several construction companies in Sarasota. Jim was a member of Colonial Oaks Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Lucas, in 2004. He is survived by three sons, Michael and Todd, both of Sarasota; and Robert of Franklin, NC; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister Barbara Myers of Bradenton, FL; and a brother, Leslie Lucas of N. Ft Myers, FL.

A Celebration of Life was held on May 4, 2024, in Sarasota, FL. Interment will be at Liberty Cemetery, 10499 Blade Road NW, Minerva, Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11 a.m.
