Jackie Lee Mowrer

Jackie Lee Mowrer, 66, of Malvern, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Jack was born in Olney, Illinois on March 23, 1957, to Marjorie Ann (Tucker) and the late Donald Leon Mowrer.

In his younger days Jack was associated with the Baptist Church. True to his name, Jack was a “jack of all trades” in the oil field, spending the last 42 years as a diesel mechanic at Pep Drilling. He was very proud that he never punched a time clock.

Jack enjoyed driving his hot rod and going to car shows along with watching drag racing. He loved going out to eat with friends and especially loved Mulligan’s. Jack loved his yearly crab legs and lobster tails that his mother would give him. Jack lived to pull pranks on whoever he could. He would root and harass the boys about the Steelers and telling them if it’s not bleeding you are not hurt. Jack will be met at heaven’s gate by his beloved dog and buddy Mylo who he now will be with forever.

Jack leaves behind a loving family he was very proud of. Jack was world renowned for his lack of patience, not holding back his opinion, and a knack for telling it like it is. He always told you the truth even if it was not what you wanted to hear.

Those to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 42 years, Carol Mowrer of Malvern; two sons: Kristofer and his wife, Kimberly of Louisville; Tony and his wife, Jessica of Akron; three grandchildren: Wyatt, Scarlett, and Arie; his mother, Ann (Tucker) Mowrer; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald J Mowrer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 6- 8 p.m. at Deckman Bartley Funeral Home, 434 West Main Street, Malvern. Cremation will follow. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, tune up your car and check the air pressure in your tires. That is what he would have wanted. Friends may express their condolences on our website: www.bartleyfuneralhome.com.
