Goldie L. Saltsman, 89, of East Twp. passed Friday, March 22, 2024.
She was born June 22, 1934, to the late Charles and Kathryn Cronin. She graduated from business school and married the love of her life, Clark Saltsman, Sept. 11, 1949. He passed Jan. 1, 2001.
Goldie worked as a police constable for several area departments such as Irondale, Hammondsville and Stratton. She also served her community by being a school bus driver and working at the U.S. Post Office. She owned her own business, Country Christmas Emporium, for 12 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca (Richard) Birkhimer of Salineville, and Darlene Wiant of Hammondsville; sister, Kathleen (Herman) Howell of Hammondsville; son-in-law, Edward Bailey of Kensington; three grandchildren, Jenifer Bailey, Crystal Grubbs and Ginger Wiant; and three great grandchildren, Dustin, Gwen and Logan. Preceding her in death was a daughter, Sherry Bailey, and siblings Charles Cronin, Jr., Shirley Cronin and Dolly Cronin.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 27, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 1 p.m. at Maple Cotton Funeral Home in Kensington. Burial will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery.
