George E. McLaren, 91, of Bloomingdale, passed away in his home Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022.
Born Feb. 4, 1931, in Lakewood, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Tenna Powers McLaren.
He retired from Ohio Edison and was the owner of McLaren & Son Excavating. He loved antique cars.
He is survived by his daughter, Georgia (Walter) Martin; son, Randy (Mary Ellen) McLaren; four grandchildren, Wendy (Kyle) Pinkley, Crystal (Mike) Kretzler, Josh (Amy) McLaren and April (Clay) Bowen; eight great grandchildren, Nolan, Cooper, Hudson Pinkley, Addison and Clark, Theodora, Violet and Gavin Bowen; and a sister, Verona James.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Smith) McLaren; sister, Tenna Werner; and stepbrothers, Harry, Hazen, Kenneth and Robert McLaren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, from 4-6 p.m. at Dodds Funeral Home in Amsterdam. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 2, at 12 noon, with viewing from 11 a.m. until time of service with Pastor Jim George officiating. Burial will be at Westview Cemetery in Carrollton.
