Gaye Lee Morehead, 81

Gaye Lee Morehead, 81, of Findlay, formerly of Minerva, passed away at the Heritage Nursing Home on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023. 

She was born in Canton June 9, 1942, the daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy (Davison) Morehead.

Survivors include her sister, Janet Davis, nieces, Ricki Francis, and Daylene (Matt) Boehm; and great nieces and nephews, Taylor (Matt Hill) Born, Blake Francis, Brittany (Garrett) Eikenbary, Brady Boehm, Brock Boehm, Blake Boehm, Madison Boehm, Asia Boehm, and Sophia Eikenbary. Preceding her in death were her parents, and brother-in-law, Richard K. Davis, and a nephew, Dominic Francis.

Gaye was a graduate of Kent State where she received her bachelor’s degree, and Ashland where she received her master’s degree. She was a member of the O.E.A., N.E.A., Kappa Delta Pi Alumni, a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minerva, and St. John’s Lutheran Church, Findlay. She volunteered with the Blanchard Valley Hospital and Aultman Hospital and was involved with Hancock and Stark County C.A.S.A. as well as Stark County adult education.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 5-7 pm at the Coldren- Crates Funeral Home at Findlay/

 A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Eric Ferguson officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Liberty Cemetery, Paris Township, near Minerva.
