Ellis Carl Weaver, 76, of Mechanicstown, passed away Sunday evening, Feb. 6, 2022.
Born March 13, 1945, in Steubenville, he was a son to Elizabeth Tukosh Weaver and William Alexander Weaver. When he was a young boy, the family moved to Dallas, TX. Ellis remembered his time there fondly, especially his work at the Mesquite Rodeo where he worked the cattle chutes.
In 1964, he volunteered to join the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He served for four years but was ever the proud Marine at heart. While in the service, he was sent to Okinawa, Japan for R&R. It was there he met a beautiful young waitress working at a restaurant for the GIs. Ellis and Chiyoko were married in Okinawa Aug. 14, 1967. The couple then moved back to his home in Ohio.
Ellis worked for many years as a maintenance man before retiring from LCP Plastics. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, and a member of the Marine Corps League, New Philadelphia chapter.
He is survived by his wife, Chiyoko Weaver; sister, Mary (Edward) Ledger; son, Gary (Rosi) Weaver; daughter, Melissa (Jared) McNutt; and six grandchildren, Lauren (Nathaniel) Berens, Jenna Weaver, Jacob Weaver, Landon McNutt, Lillian McNutt and Lennon McNutt; great-granddaughter, Vivian Berens; and a great-grandson due to arrive in April.
Ellis was preceded in death by his father, William, and his mother, Elizabeth, as well as an infant son, Robert Weaver.
Per his request, no services will be held for Ellis.
