Dorothy Eileen Boyle, 96

Dorothy Eileen Boyle, peacefully passed away on Jan. 31, 2024, in Carrollton at the age of 96. 

She was born on March 14, 1927, in Malvern, Ohio to David and Oma (Reigle) Ayers.

Dorothy led a life filled with dedication and hard work. She worked as a laborer at Surety Rubber, where she put her skills to good use. In her free time, she found joy in farming and traveling with her lady friends to the casinos. Above all, Dorothy cherished spending precious moments with her family and friends.

Dorothy’s commitment to her community was evident through her role as the President of the Malvern Class of 1945 Alumni Association. She valued the importance of connections and held a special place in her heart for her fellow classmates.

Dorothy leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by her surviving family and friends. She is survived by her Son, Doug (Michele) Boyle of Lorain, and her Grandchildren: Michaela (Daniel) of Lorain, Hannah (Sam) of Ann Arbor MI, Elizabeth (Alex) Canaday of Boston MA, and Zachary Boyle of Lorain. Her Great-grandchildren: Lilly, Josiah, Lydia, and Eleanor will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Boyle; and a daughter, Denise Brooks.

A funeral service will be held to honor Dorothy’s life at Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home, located at 434 West Main Street, Malvern, Ohio, on Friday, February 9, 11 a.m. Following the service, Dorothy will be laid to rest at Bethlehem Cemetery. Prior to the funeral, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation hours from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home.

During this time of mourning, let us remember Dorothy as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Her kind spirit and warm heart will forever be cherished, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
