Cheryl Jean Elson Davidson, 69, of Jewett, Ohio passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville, Ohio after a short fight with cancer.
Born Dec. 28, 1954, in Steubenville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Mary Alice Elson Merrin and the stepdaughter of the late George Merrin. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1973 and was a cookware dresser at Scio Pottery for nine years and later was employed as a Carrollton HEAP representative for HARCATUS.
She married John Earl Davidson Sr. on Dec. 18, 1999. They enjoyed traveling until his health declined. He passed away on Oct. 1, 2021. Following John’s passing, Cheryl lived at the Harrison County Home, where she met and made many friends. Cheryl enjoyed playing cards and board games. Before her mom passed, she enjoyed going to bingo with her mom in Amsterdam.
Surviving are stepsons John (Samantha) Davidson, Jr. of Baltic and Lew (Carrie) Davidson of Dennison, a sister Alberta Patterson of Canton, a brother, Edward “Buddy” (Flora) Merrin of Richmond, a sister Tammy (Darin) Miller of Carrollton, a brother John Merrin, of Lisbon, and several nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Carriage Inn Steubenville and Valley Hospice for providing loving, compassionate, and respectful care for their loved one.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 11, at 1 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Mark Statler officiating. Koch Funeral Home, Scio, has been entrusted with her arrangements. www.kochfuneral.com
