CCM Staff Report
With the Nov. 5 general election less than a week away, Carroll County Board of Elections officials are gearing up for a large turnout on election day.
“We are anticipating a 75-80 percent voter turnout,” noted Director Cheri Whipkey. “As of Oct. 24, we were a little over 100 voters down from what we were in 2020 but, without COVID we are about where we usually are for a Presidential election. The percentage has been growing each of the last four Presidential elections.”
There are 18,326 registered voters in Carroll County, according to the election board website.
Polls will be open Nov. 5 (election day) from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. at 23 polling locations throughout the county. The locations will be manned by 92 local citizens prepared to assist voters.

Provisional Ballots
Any registered voter who moved or changed their name and did not update the voter registration, may still vote. They will do a provisional ballot, which means that after the election, the board of elections will verify the person did not vote anywhere else and that they are registered somewhere in the state of Ohio. On the day of certification, Nov. 15 for Carroll County, all verified ballots will be counted and added to the total.
Whipkey said anyone who feels they may need to vote provisional, it would be helpful if they cast a ballot in the board of elections office during early voting hours.
The office is located on the lower level of the Carroll County Courthouse.
