Mary Lipinsky is excited about her new business venture as owner of Bedrock Tax Service in Carrollton.
The Carrollton High School graduate and county resident recently purchased the former Carrollton office of Advantage Tax at 911 Canton Rd. NW, Suite A, completed a remodel and opened the doors under the new name of Bedrock Tax Service.
“I’m the new owner, but I’m not new to the business,” Lipinsky said, sitting behind her desk in the office. “I’ve worked in the Carrollton office of Advantage Tax dating back to 2004 and was the office manager for the last 18 years.
When the owners discussed the possibility of retiring back in 2017, Lipinsky asked that when they were ready to sell, she be afforded the opportunity to purchase the business.
“When they were ready to sell the Carrollton business, I bought it,” she explained, adding her experience in accounting has led to her where she is today.
She has a degree in accounting and 11 years experience in the fields of taxes and payroll.
“I’m also an enrolled agent and can practice in front of the IRS (Internal Revenue Service),” she said,” so I’m held to a higher standard.
Lipinsky has one other employee in the office, which offers, personal and business accounting and tax services, farm taxes and payroll and general accounting.
“We are the same staff in the same location and are looking forward to meeting the needs of present clients and adding new clients to the business,” she said.
Hours are 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. until Jan. 8 when they will be expanded to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. For additional information call 330-627-1040.
Mary and her husband, Stan, have four children.
