Timberlake named Carrollton police chief

Carrollton council accepted Mayor Bill Stoneman’s recommendation to hire Tim Timberlake as the replacement for Chief of Police Robert Ellington during the March 22 meeting.

Stoneman said they interviewed five candidates, including two who are village employees.

Timberlake, a Carrollton resident, retired after almost 30 years with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He will begin his duties near the end of April when Ellington retires.
