Turner Eddy, Sway Groff named students of the month

Turner Eddy and Sway Groff

Turner Eddy and Sway Groff are Carrollton High School October Students of the Month. 

Turner Eddy is the son of Jason and Michelle Eddy, of Carrollton and has one sister in the 10th-grade. 

Extracurricular activities in and out of school include cross country, soccer, men’s volleyball, track CHS Club, Youth to Youth, Middle School Mentors, Student Council, serves as NHS vice president and class vice president. 

Eddy’s hobbies include running, hanging out with friends, sports and editing the announcements. He plans to attend The Ohio State University and major in graphic design.

What teacher, coach, family member or special friend has influenced you and why? 

“My dad because he always pushed me to do my best in academics and in sports,” said Eddy. 

What advice can you give for success in life?

“Participate in everything you can possibly do in high school because it can help you severely in the future.” 

Sway Groff is the daughter of Jamie and Vonda Groff of Minerva. Her extracurricular  activities are FFA, trap shooting and National Honor Society. 

Hobbies include ATV riding and reading. She is undecided about a college, but plans to be a high school math teacher. 

What teacher, coach, family member or special friend has influenced you and why? 

“My past dog named Lady influenced me to remain religious when I was younger,” said Groff. 

What advice can you give for success in life? 

“Plan ahead.”
