School officials investigating homecoming dance incident

Carrollton Schools officials are working with law enforcement to address a situation that occurred during the Sept. 23 homecoming dance at the high school.

Superintendent Dave Davis issued a press release Sept. 25 saying a student report another student brought a knife to the homecoming dance.

“We are thankful this was reported and happy no one was harmed as a result of this action,” Davis said. “We are working collaboratively with law enforcement to address the situation going forward. At Carrollton Schools, student safety is our number one priority and we encourage and expect our students, staff and community to report any situation that brings safety into question.”

He would not comment further, siting federal and state privacy laws protecting students.
