Ron Ruegg Automotive is celebrating its 25th year anniversary of serving the community in 2024.

The business has been a family-owned business since 1999. Since Ron Ruegg was 10 years old, all he wanted to do was work and repair vehicles. He started at Wendell Ford in Waynesburg when he was younger washing vehicles. While he was attending Circleville Bible College to obtain his Associates Degree in Education, he also worked at Truex Automotive in Groveport, Ohio. Dan Truex was one of Ron’s many mentors as he learned a lot about working on vehicles and running a business.

After college, Ron moved back to Waynesburg and returned to Wendell Ford working on vehicles for a number of years having the opportunity to learn even more from those who took him under their wing.

In 1987, Ron and his brothers started their own automotive repair business. In 1999, decided to venture out on his own which led to him running Ron Ruegg Automotive out of his house garage. With his growing business, it was time to relocate to property right off of 183 in Malvern. In 2002, Ron opened Ron Ruegg Automotive in the location that it currently is located at 6117 Alliance Rd. NW, Malvern. It is co-owned by his wife, Becky Ruegg.

“A memory that comes to mind from the last 25 years is when we first built the main building we are in now,” said Ron Ruegg. “It was a great accomplishment in my life to be able to build here and expand. Then building our additional building in 2019 to first have my daughter’s wedding reception in it and now to have the lifts and vehicles that we work on in there.”

Ron Ruegg Automotive wouldn’t be the successful business it is without all of his employees. He is thankful for them and all that they do. They currently have 13 employees.

Ron’s daughter, Gina Szittai, is in line to take over the family business.

“This has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl,” said Gina. “While watching dad spend many long hours and years building his business to become the successful business it is, I hope to continue building and growing Ron Ruegg Automotive for many more years to come.”
