Rib burn-off, entertainment set June 10 in downtown Carrollton

St. John’s Villa officials are gearing up for this weekend’s Rib Burn-Off in downtown Carrollton.
The event is scheduled June 10 in the permit parking lot located on N. High St. from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. The schedule is packed with food, fun and entertainment. Vendors will be cooking up ribs with on-site judges determining the “Best Ribs.” Awards will be presented to the top three places. Early entrants include Encino Energy and the Carroll County Vet’s Club, along with St. John’s Villa.
A beer garden will complement the food stands. Live entertainment includes the band Bad Habits from 1-4 p.m. and Jon Doe from 5-9 p.m. Those wishing to enjoy the bands are asked to bring lawn chairs.
Susan Williamson, director of development and communication, said the evet is way to bring the community togehter for a fun day to to educate the community about the Villa.
Organizers said there will be raffles and games as well. Proceeds benefit the residents of St. John’s Villa.
