Malvern man joins Veterans Service Commission board

Sergeant Preston G. Anderson is joining the Veterans Service Commission of Carroll County as an at-large member.
Anderson, a Malvern resident, was sworn in by Carroll County Common Pleas Judge Michael Repella, II during a ceremony Jan. 12.
As per law, Repella appoints members to the commission.
He is a 12-year army veteran, having served in Iraq IOF 1 and is active in the Malvern American Legion and Minerva Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
“I am looking forward to returning the favor they gave me years ago,” Anderson said.
He replaces Michael Maiorca, who retired Dec. 31, 2022, and joins Larry DeDent, Thomas McMillen, Thomas Barnett and Tom Indorf on the commission. DeDent, who represents the Disabled American Veterans (DAV); serves as president; McMillen, representing the American Legion Post 428, is vice president; and Barnett, an at-large member, serves as secretary. Barnett and Indorf are at-large members.
The Commission meets monthly in the county office, located at 160 2nd St. SW, Carrollton.
The next meeting is scheduled Jan. 23 at 4 p.m. and is open to the public.
