A Malvern man was indicted for Felonious Assault and Strangulation during a half-day session of a Carroll County grand jury Sept. 4.

Joseph M. Lipinski, 40, of 5209 Alliance Rd. NW, Malvern, is charged with assaulting his girlfriend Aug. 6 during a dispute in Malvern. The woman sustained head and neck injuries and broken blood vessels in one of her eyes.

According to Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney Steven D. Barnett, the indictments included:

GLENN A. GUTHRIE, JR., 55, of 12156 State Route 45, Apt. 8, Lisbon, Receiving Stolen Property.  Barnett said it is alleged Guthrie attempted to sell a trailer at a public auction July 22 in Carrollton.  Carrollton Police determined the trailer was stolen from an Alliance area man a few days prior to the auction.

RAY E. HEIDY, 53, of 3126 25th St. SE, Canton, Aggravated Possession of Drugs, and Drug Paraphernalia Offenses. Carroll County Sheriff deputies found methamphetamine and a straw used to administer methamphetamine in Hidey’s pocket after he was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for his arrest July 6.

JESSICA L. RAINES, 34, of 9566 Garfield Ave. SE, East Sparta, Possession of Cocaine, Aggravated Possession of Drugs, Possession of Drugs and Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments and Drug Paraphernalia Offenses.  Carrollton Police stopped a vehicle operated by Raines for a traffic violation May 3.  After a K-9 search alerted on the vehicle, methamphetamine, Viagra, cocaine, Clonidine Hydrochloride, and Alprazolam were found. Used and unused syringes and pipes used to smoke cocaine were also found.

An indictment was also returned against Dakota Kincaid of East Rochester. Details appear in a separate story.

Barnett said that the grand jury heard testimony concerning the Carroll County Jail, as required by law, and in a written report filed with the clerk of courts, noted no violations of applicable state laws and regulations.

Arraignments are scheduled Sept. 19 at 8:15 a.m.
