Carroll County Toys for Tots Program to distribute toys Dec. 5

Families in need have one more week to sign up for the county Toys for Tots distribution.
For the ninth year, the Ohio Oil and Gas Association and its members are partnering with Toys for Tots to help on distribution days across eastern and southeastern Ohio.
Carroll County’s distribution, hosted by EOG Resources, is scheduled Monday, Dec. 5, in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Hall at 616 Roswell Rd. NW, Carrollton.
Toys for Tots is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2022. The program began in 1947 as the brain child of Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks. Actually, it was Hendricks’ wife, Diane, who was the real inspiration. She had a few handcrafted dolls and asked Bill to deliver them to an agency that supported children in need. Walt Disney designed the first Toys for Tots poster, which included a miniature three-car train that was adopted as the Toys for Tots logo.
