Carroll County recorded its fourth and fifth COVID-19 related deaths in July.
According to the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) website, a female between the ages of 70 and 79 died July 9 and a male over the age of 80 died July 21.
As of 2 p.m. Aug. 2, Carroll County reported 110 total cases, 86 of which were recovered and 17 were active. Eighty-nine of those cases were confirmed and 21 were probable.
According to county health district officials, probable is defined as:
*Meeting clinical criteria and epidemiologic evidence with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19;
*Meeting presumptive laboratory evidence (antibody) and either clinical criteria or epidemiologic evidence;
*Meeting vital records criteria with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19.
Confirmed cases are those who were confirmed by a laboratory test.
The confirmed cases are from the following townships: Augusta, 4; Brown, 28; Center, 15; East, 3; Fox, 1; Harrison, 9; Lee, 3; Loudon, 3; Monroe, 3; Orange, 0; Perry 5; Rose, 11; Union 1, and Washington 3.
