FBI investigating officer-involved shooting death

One person is dead after a shooting July 15 in Carroll County that involved an FBI officer.

The FBI office in Cleveland released the following statement July 16 regarding the shooting, which occurred at about 11:15 a.m.

“The FBI is reviewing an agent-involved shooting which occurred July 15, 2024, at approximately 11:15 am in Carrollton, Ohio. One subject was wounded and transported to a local hospital for further treatment where they succumbed to their injuries. The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously. In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division. As this is an ongoing matter, we have no further details to provide,” the statement read.

Several unmarked black vehicles were reported as being staged at the Carroll County Sheriff’s

Training Center on Kensington Rd. Monday morning and later sighted in Union Twp.
