Early morning fire damages mobile home

Carrollton Village firefighters extinguished a fire in a mobile home Aug. 5 using less than 100 gallons of water.
According to Chief Shane Thomas, the department was toned at 6:05 for a structure fire in a mobile home park located at 770 Jones Ave. Lot S, Carrollton.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke coming out of the ridge vent in the roof, but no flames. While the department was establishing a handline inside the mobile home, flames broke out in the roof. The fire was quickly brought under control.
The cause was determined to be an electrical issue in the ceiling that caused the fire. The occupants said they were awakened by what appeared to be arching noises in the ceiling area of a bedroom, which is where the fire started.
No one was injured. The mobile home is owned by Jessica Morrison. The department was on scene for an hour.
