Mayor Doug Ruby informed Dellroy Council during the July meeting, he received two letters of interest for the council seat left vacant with the death of Kay Onstott in May.
Matt Michaels and Amy Graham, both village residents, submitted letters of interest which he presented to council to review.
Council President Joe Mabie asked Solicitor Jenna Hokes if all council members should be present to review the letters and decide on a choice for council. Hokes advised it is not necessary because a quorum was present.
Councilman Jeff Hanshaw said he felt the three members present could handle the decision. Council went into a 15-minute executive session to discuss the issue.
Following the session, Michaels was nominated to fill the seat and approved unanimously. Hokes administered the oath of office to Michaels, with a term expiring Dec. 31, 2021.
