County Regional Planning seeking citizen members

The Carroll County Regional Planning Commission is accepting applications for citizen members.

Commission Director Tom Konst noted four seats are open; each is a three-year term and there is no remuneration involved.

The Regional Planning Commission meets quarterly on the third Tuesday of January, May, August, and November at 6 p.m. in the village of Carrollton Municipal Building. Special meetings may be called if the need arises. Elections will be held at the November meeting.

The purpose of the Commission is to aid in planning for the orderly development of property within the county and is responsible for subdivision regulations, the county comprehensive plan, county house numbering and the review and approval of minor land subdivisions under 5A, variances from regulations, and  major planned subdivisions for adherence to proper development guidelines.

Applications are available in the Regional Planning Office, located on the third floor of the Courthouse, or by contacting Konst at 330-627-5611 or via email: [email protected].  Applications are also available on the Planning Commission’s  webpage at www.carrollcountyohio.us/regional planning. Deadline for submitting applications is Oct. 30.

Those who submit an application are requested to attend the November meeting to meet the commission and be present for the election to be held Nov. 17 at 6 p.m.
