Thanksgiving dinner moves to drive-thru event

The community Thanksgiving dinner hosted by Amsterdam Community Church of God is taking on a new format this year, due to COVID-19.

The meal, traditionally a sit-down dinner, will be a drive-thru event for this year only, according to church officials.

Community residents are invited to pick up a free Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 21 at the church, located 8247 Bear Road SE, from 4-6 p.m.

Dinner includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, a roll, and dessert. 

Attendants will meet visitors in the parking lot to take orders.
