Kay L. Simmons, 66, died Thursday, October 10, 2024, at her home near Amsterdam.
Born July 7, 1958, in Alliance, she was a daughter of the late Vernon Henderson and Marian Henderson Roof, and her beloved stepfather Charles Roof.
Kay cleaned homes in the Carrollton area and at Ohio CAT in Cadiz for many years. She enjoyed hunting rabbits and deer, and was proud to have shot an eleven-point buck. She also used her talents to help organizations, even helping paint scenery for a play at Hopedale Elementary School. She loved decorating her home for Christmas and once won the Amsterdam Christmas decorating contest.
Surviving is her husband Paul Simmons whom she married November 4, 1978, a son Luke (Brandi) Simmons of Amsterdam, two grandsons, a brother Ralph (Cindy) Henderson of Carrollton and a brother-in-law Richard Simmons and his friend Linda Moore of Barnesville.
Honoring her wishes there will be no services. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with her arrangements. www.kochfuneral.com
